#whatwouldbuddysay
Buddy Fergurson finds it somewhat insulting that just because he finally discovered using hash tags on his instagram posts, that some people think he's been lax in his blog posting!
humph
It's all about being in the moment, you know ~
Head on over to #whatwouldbuddysay to find out what Buddy and the gang

The Unified Front
With all the political shenanigans that have recently been filling the news,
Buddy Fergurson can't help but wonder why humans find it so hard to figure out
that it IS possible for one to function successfully within a group, while still working to further
their own agenda.
Take this recent weekday morning photo for example.
Buddy, along with Kevin and Franky,
have all presented a unified front as they patiently wait for their dad to finish his shower
and take them for their walk.
BUT, individual motives are actually afoot.
Franky can't wait to get back from his walk, which he really thinks he can do without,
so he can snuggle down and resume his nap...
which his mom just interrupted with the camera.
Kevin is on high alert for the garbage truck.
He spotted the cans out the front window, so he's all set to announce
the truck's arrival
the truck's arrival
and defend his home territory when it appears.
It doesn't seem to matter that it's already been there.
Any passing truck will do.
And Buddy?
Buddy knows after that after their walk, Buddy's mom will usually
make toast or heat up a muffin.
So that means crumbs.
And in addition to crumbs, if she's really in a generous mood
-which she normally is-
that means she will share a bite of it with him.
(even though his dad will tell her not to)
AND, if she's not too sleepy,
she may even put jam on that muffin
and that would be even better!
Unified front.
Works every time...
and everyone wins in the end!

Fun and (Pug) Games
When asked about his weekend with his new brother Franky, Buddy Fergurson decided he
would provide the short abbreviated version -
which went something like this:
Franky goes under the bed
Buddy goes under the bed
Franky comes out from under the bed
Buddy, gets stuck under the bed.
I'd smile too, Franky!

The Storm
When Buddy Fergurson first heard about Hurricane Sandy approaching his town, he watched his mom run around preparing for the storm, but he really didn't know what to expect.
It sure a wasn't much fun, but Buddy is very happy to report that everyone at
his house and in his
neighborhood is safe and doing fine.
Our thoughts and prayers go out to all of those effected by Hurricane Sandy. Buddy and his family also urge everyone to support the shelter and rescue programs that are in need of contributions, and also the pet adoption progarms that will also be brimming with rescues in need of donations and homes after the storm.

When asked about his most recent surgery, the 2nd in less than 2 weeks, Buddy Fergurson responded with a firm - "No comment, I'm resting".
What happened you might ask?
In a nut shell -
- Buddy's mom takes him to the Vet because his neck seems to be hurting.
- During the office visit the Vet points out that Buddy is due for his Senior Wellness Exam - which all dogs should have starting at the age of 7.
- The ultrasound from the wellness exam reveals that Buddy has bladder stones, the kind that cannot be dissolved by medication, so he is scheduled for surgery to remove the stones before they become lodged in his urinary tract.
- Buddy is recovering from his bladder stone stone surgery, but his mom still thinks that something is "just not quite right". She can't put her finger on it, and neither can the Vet... until he
decides to look around on Buddy's tummy further up from the bladder with the ultrasound. That's when he discovers 2 tumors on Buddy's spleen.
-The Vet describes the situation as a 'ticking time bomb", so Buddy has surgery again, a few days later, this time to remove his spleen.
Buddy is resting and getting along just fine! We'll have to see what the results are from the biopsy later this week.
Moral of the story...
One thing leads to another.... Thank goodness for Senior Wellness Exams because both of these conditions would probably have gone unnoticed until they were critical.

Buddy Visits the Vet
Buddy Fergurson does not understand why his mom made him go visit the Vet
this afternoon.
So what if he's limping, not wanting to walk, or play the "shoe game".
Give a guy a break already.....
Ha! Pinched neck will do it every time. A shot, a prescription for an
anti-inflammatory and Bud is set to go... good as new!

Monday Morning Blues - Kevin's Bladder Stone Surgery
Buddy Fergurson is feeling blue this cold, winter morning. His brother Kevin had to go in to the Vet's for surgery - and he misses him already! Kevin's bladder stones were discovered when he went in for routine shots and an exam last week. Buddy is very thankful they found the stones, before they caused real problems for Kevin. Along with his sister Princess, Buddy assures everyone that he will be taking good care of Kevin when he returns home later today.

Kevin rests up this past weekend, preparing for his surgery. ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ Update: Kevin is back home and seems to be doing OK. He has to keep his collar on for a week. |

Yes, We Are Adopted
Buddy and Kevin Fergurson are in their little red vests waiting for their mom to take them for
their walk. Every time they venture out, Buddy always hears people on the street tell his mom how
cute both him and Kevin are. And every time he also hears his mom answer back "Thank you...they are both rescue pets, you know....". And that is something that Buddy is pretty happy to hear!

Buddy Fergurson Prepares for Christmas
Buddy Fergurson decided to help his mom with some Christmas preparations this week. Of course he found himself wrought with decisions.
Do I help wrap gifts?
Or mark the tree?
You are a hopeless scamp Buddy Boo!
I love you!
